Internationally renowned Swiss artist Claudia Comte, has long been inspired by nature. Her studies of flora and fauna from different environments has resulted in magnificent sculptures in the form of cacti, corals and leaves. The artist developed her installation Five Marble Leaves for the Jardin des Tuileries.

This installation created for the Jardin des Tuileries embodies the fabulous world of trees in its spatial language, and alludes to the critical state of the environment. It reflects the seasonal cycle of leaves, which fall in the autumn and then grow back in spring. The elegant, long-lasting material of the sculpted marble highlights this miracle of nature and the impact of accelerating global warming. Art has a way of reminding us of the momentous processes taking place before our eyes around the world, as well as the beauty in the simplest things, like a falling leaf.   For more information please contact: Mónica Gónzalez-Adalid:
