“EF Xylaria“ Koo Jeong A, 2022,
Asia Now, 20.10 — 23.10.22   The artist traces a certain poetic within the nature of forms that permeate the universe. What underpins her transient approach to making is an interest in the minute details of our earthly environments and the innate connectivity with the universal matter.   The star paintings’ galactic iconography evokes the experience of an observatory, reflecting the artist’s interest in unexplored constellations. For Koo Jeong A these works exemplify the ways in which the energies of our bodies and those of the stars are not only aligned but intricately woven together.   In her new series of paintings, Koo Jeong A appeals to korean mythology, using the symbol of the three headed eagle as a representation of freedom, lightness and strength.   In an uncertain global context which increasingly poses our relation to natural elements and resources, Albarrán Bourdais is pleased to propose this personal project by Koo Jeong A which invites us to reconsider our relation to the world with a more silent approach by looking carefully and in giving to see the world with a greater poetry of everyday life.
