This summer, Albarrán Bourdais is presenting an extensive exhibition by Mexican artist Jose Dávila throughout its Menorca headquarters.
For his first exhibition with the gallery, Dávila has created a new series of paintings and sculptures in which he uses industrial and organic materials to explore recurring themes in his work, such as notions of balance and perception.
Influenced by his training as an architect, Dávila’s work takes fundamental elements of drawing and reconfigures them in space, making visible the dynamics by which objects maintain their form and occupy space.
In parallel, Dávila’s work can be seen in solo exhibitions at institutions such as Gunma Museum in Japan, in conversation with Josef Albers.
