Feria MATERIAL
We are pleased to announce our first participation in the 11th edition of Feria MATERIAL 2025, taking place from February 7 to 9 in Mexico City, at stand A262.
For this occasion, we are presenting a selection of recent works by Iván Argote, Adrien Vescovi, and Marco A. Castillo. These pieces explore the possibilities of materials such as silk, bronze, wood, and recycled textiles. The proposal establishes a dialogue between tradition and modernity, offering a fresh and engaging perspective on contemporary art.
Adrien Vescovi will present three newly created large-scale textile pieces, Sans Titre (2025), made with naturally dyed fabrics. These works carry the histories and memories of their materials, transforming them into a visual archive that connects past and present.
Among the standout pieces is Breathings: Dignidad y Respeto (2024) by Iván Argote, a silk painting that combines text with delicate botanical imagery, inviting reflection on tension and resilience. We will also present his sculpture Antípodo, a bronze work that evokes references to pre-Columbian art. The notion of the “other” has been a central theme in Argote’s practice, and these works serve as a reaction to the Eurocentric worldview.
Finally, we will showcase works by Marco A. Castillo, such as Mangle I (2024), a wooden sculpture inspired by Cuban modernist design, and Wakamba 22 (2025), a bas-relief that fuses geometry and graphics, recovering elements from Latin American design of the 1960s and 70s.
