Paris Photo,
Alberto García-Alix is considered one of the leading photographers and portraitists of the international art scene. Feeding his creativity with excesses and fears, his photographs are a journey through an era. For this solo booth at Paris Photo 2023, Albarrán Bourdais presents juxtapositions between his historical and iconic pieces with his most recent and suggestive works realised at the Prado Museum. Mixing thus his own history to the History of those from the past. Using black and white photography, Alberto Garcia Alix has dedicated his entire career to document social reality in Spain from the 80’s to nowadays, with a very strong and rough yet very elegant touch. In his most recent work, Alix uses analog photography and multiple exposures as tools to create an evocative series in which the result is always uncertain. Historical figures seam to come to life with his very contemporary vision.
