Adrien Vescovi

Adrien Vescovi lives and works in Marseille since 2017, after a long practice installed in the mountains of Haute-Savoie.

The artist reinvests with contemporary issues the question of the free canvas and a painting thought at an architectural and natural scale. For Vescovi the context in which he installs his works is an essential element to his practise. Adrien composes temporalities, assembles colours produced according to different alchemical processes, from air (sun and moon rays), earth (ochres and plants) and fire (cooking, infusions). His way of sewing is a way of painting. Chance is his ally. Born in 1981 and graduated from the École supérieure d’art de l’agglomération d’Annecy, Vescovi has participated in exhibitions in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Mexico.

In 2019 Vescovi exhibited his work at the Galerie des Ponchettes at MAMAC Nice, at the Villa Noailles for the International Fashion and Accessories Festival, at the Vieille Charité in Marseille, at the Musée Régional d’Art Contemporain Occitanie in Sérignan and at the Palais de Tokyo in the exhibition Future, Old, Fugitive. In 2020 Vescovi’s installation was shown at the exhibition Sur pierres brûlantes with Triangle France, and his project Astérides was shown the Friche Belle de Mai in Marseille during Manifesta 13. In 2021 the artist participated in the 22nd prize of the Pernod Ricard Foundation with the project Bonaventure signed by Lilou Vidal. Vescovi had his first solo exhibition in the contemporary art center Le Grand Café in Saint Nazaire. In 2022 “Jours de lenteur”

Vescovi’s works are included in the collections of the Centre National des Arts Plastiques, the Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain de Nice, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, the Frac Provence Alpes Côtes d’Azur and the Fond Communal d’Art Contemporain de la ville de Marseille. This year Vescovi will exhibit at the Casino du Luxembourg and the Yvon Lambert bookstore. The artist will also have a solo exhibition at Albarran Bourdais gallery in Madrid.
